Extended Day
The Extended Day Program is an after school tutoring program staffed by teachers who assist students with their academics. This program is for the students that need additional structured time after school to study and complete assignments. The Extended Day staff provides academic help based on each individual student's needs.
Who Is Eligible?
Students who have any D's or F's. Students must be referred by their teacher or counselor and have parent consent to participate.
Program Facts:
Meets after school from 3:00-4:00 pm every Tuesday and Thursday. Students are expected to attend both days each week.
Students complete classwork or study for upcoming assessments.
Bus transportation is free for those students whose residency qualifies for bus transportation.
Registration Information:
If interested, parents must complete this registration form (space may be limited). Paper-based forms are also available in the Student Services Office. The student's dean or school counselor may also receive consent via email or phone call.
If the program is full, the student will be placed on a waiting list.
The student and guardian will be notified (email) the date in which the student will begin.
Guidelines/Expectations:
If a student is not able to attend Extended Day, the student's guardian should contact the director of the program for the absence to be excused. Contact: David Beck at DBeck@ep309.org or (309)694-8303.
Regular attendance is vital to student improvement. Therefore, a student may be removed from the program if any of the following occurs:
*3 or more unexcused absences to Extended Day.
*5th absence to Extended Day (this includes excused absences). 2 tardies is equal to one absence.
*Any discipline issues during Extended Day.
**Students will meet with their dean and parent/guardian communication will occur before removal.**
